Getting started
What is Elula
Elula builds your Git repo and runs it on Cloud Run in your own Google Cloud project.
Elula is a deployment platform for teams. You point it at a Git repo, and it builds the code and runs it in your own Google Cloud project. Your apps, databases and logs stay in your cloud account. Elula handles the build, the deploy and the day-to-day management.
You can drive Elula from the web dashboard, from the elula command line tool, or by asking an AI coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and others) to run the CLI for you.
How it works
- You connect your workspace to a Google Cloud project once.
- You create an app from a Git repo, from the dashboard or with
elula init. - You deploy. Elula builds the code with Cloud Build in your project.
- The app runs on Cloud Run in your project and gets a URL.
- When auto-deploy is on, every push to the app's branch deploys again.
If the app needs Postgres, Elula can create a managed database on Cloud SQL in the same project and give the app a DATABASE_URL at runtime.
What you can do
- Deploy web apps and APIs that serve HTTP. See Deploy a web app or API.
- Build without a Dockerfile for common stacks, or bring your own. See Frameworks and Dockerfiles.
- Deploy several apps from one monorepo. See Monorepos.
- Run batch jobs on demand or on a cron schedule. See Jobs and schedules.
- Deploy a preview of an open pull request. See Pull request previews.
- See every deployment and roll back without rebuilding. See Deployments and rollbacks.
- Set environment variables and encrypted secrets. See Environment variables and secrets.
- Add a managed Postgres database and run migrations. See Databases.
- Change instances, memory and CPU without a rebuild. See Scaling and resources.
- Use your own domain. See Custom domains.
- Read build logs, runtime logs, HTTP requests and metrics. See Logs and metrics.
- Keep apps private to your team's Google accounts, or make them public. See Private and public apps.
- Invite your team with roles. See Team and roles.
- Publish HTML files as shareable pages. See Pages.
- Share secrets through one-time, encrypted links. See Sharing secrets.
- Scan your repo for vulnerable dependencies and leaked secrets. See Security scans.
Who it's for
Elula is for teams that want a simple "push code, get a URL" workflow but want the apps to run in a Google Cloud project they own. It suits internal tools, APIs, dashboards, scheduled jobs and small production apps, whether a person or an AI agent wrote the code.
