Workspace
Delete a workspace
What happens when an owner deletes a workspace, and how to restore it within 7 days.
Owners can delete a workspace. Everyone loses access right away, and the workspace can be restored for 7 days. After that it is erased from Elula.
Deleting a workspace doesn't delete anything in your Google Cloud project.
Delete
- Open Org settings → Cloud.
- In Delete workspace, click Delete workspace….
- Read the summary, then type
Delete <workspace name>to confirm. For a workspace named Acme, typeDelete Acme. - Click the delete button.
Only owners can do this.
What happens when you confirm
- Access: everyone in the workspace loses access at once, in the dashboard and the CLI.
- Billing: the subscription is cancelled. You won't be charged again, and the rest of the current billing period isn't refunded. If Elula can't cancel the subscription, nothing is deleted.
- Your Google Cloud: apps and databases already in your project keep running. Elula stops managing them. Delete them in Google Cloud if you don't need them.
- Restore window: an owner can restore the workspace for 7 days.
- After 7 days: the workspace's apps, settings, pages, sent secrets and history are erased from Elula for good. Resources in your Google Cloud project are not touched.
Restore
For 7 days, owners of a deleted workspace see a banner in the dashboard saying the workspace was deleted and the date you can restore it until. Click Restore.
A restored workspace comes back with its members, apps and settings. The subscription stays cancelled, so you need to subscribe again before you can deploy or create apps. See Billing.
After 7 days, the workspace can't be restored.
Before you delete
- If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription instead. Your workspace stays, and running apps keep running.
- If you only want to remove Elula's access to Google Cloud, disconnect it instead.
- If you want your cloud resources gone too, delete them in Google Cloud. Elula doesn't remove them.
